“ We had a great meal at the Lockview. We weren’t given the option to sit upstairs, but if given the option, I would recommend it as it’s a bit more updated, nicer atmosphere and better view. Neither level have that great of a view of the ships / locks.... Views are fairly obstructed. But the food and service was good, and I would recommend it. Fresh fish caught locally. ”

“ Ordered the whitefish dinner broiled and it was terrific. The fish is seasoned well, came in two large filets and went perfectly with the tartar sauce. The wild rice was also delicious, especially when mixed with the soup/gravy at the bottom. Green beans were a little bland but definitely healthy ”

“ This is the best choice for Soo. The only reason I gave atmosphere a 4 out of 5 is you are misled by the name of the restaurant. Even from the top floor of the restaurant, you don't get a clear view of the lock. They do have television screens up showing what's happening at the locks. Our 4 had whitefish sandwich, tacos, lemon pepper style and walleye fish and chips. All food was A and tasty. Coleslaw was great! ”

“ Wonderful find right across the street from the Soo locks. Service was quite prompt and our particular waiter was very friendly and helpful. I had the best deep fried Lake Perch that I have ever had and my wife said much the same about her whitefish basket. Even the fries were quite outstanding! We were nearing the end of a week-long road trip so we are not from the area but we certainly will come here again the next time we are. ”

The fish is incredibly fresh, be sure to ask for the catch of the day for the best experience. The side dishes are well-portioned, and the servings are generous. The staff is friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. It’s a popular spot, and for good reason, the quality of the food is excellent. I highly recommend it! ”

“ We stopped by here on a late Monday afternoon and were immediately seated. We had a great view of the locks and visitors center, and could see the freighters entering and exiting the lock. The food was delicious and the service excellent. We ordered the Hot Turkey sandwich, UP Pastie and the Chicken Bacon Ranch wrap. The fries were crispy and oh so good! We would definitely stop by here again if given the opportunity! ”

“ Stopped in here 1st day a summer a few years back. Temp of 50 degrees with a gale warning off Lake Superior bringing wind chills in the 30s. Coming up from Southern Indiana this was our introduction to Yooper Summer. No problem, we took shelter here in the Lockview Restaurant. As I recall I had a warm bowl of soup, while my wife and girls ate fish and chicken. All good. We hoped for a Laker to go through the Soo Locks while we were there but the one that appeared stopped out on the water to await calmer seas. Oh well, I hope to go back and when I do I predict another meal here. ”

“ Really like this place. Fresh fish caught by locals, can't get better than that. Friendly and attentive wait staff. Atmosphere is nice especially sitting upstairs watching ships go thru the locks. Only negative is the table and chairs setup - my mother had the same set in 1960. ”
